Mission Australia is one of the nation’s leading charities and community service organisations. We have more than 450 services throughout metropolitan, rural and regional Australia – in every state and territory – and last year helped over 300,000 people.

Mission Australia Annual Report

We make a real difference by working with people to meet their challenges and enabling them to pursue more positive, independent lives.

Annual Report 2007 Highlights

  • We helped more than 300,000 people through our employment, training and community services – more than in any other year of our history (51,000 more than 2006)
  • Our strategic review resulted in a restructure of the organisation; a reiteration of Mission Australia’s founding purpose; new vision, mission and value statements; and a business strategy for covering one-, three, five and 10-year plans
  • We launched our Integrated Youth Services Project in the Northern Territory – a three-year partnership with the Federal Government to help prevent drug abuse and anti-social behaviour among young Indigenous people living in remote communities
  • We opened Roma House, a new accommodation service aimed at helping long-term homeless people in Brisbane who have multiple and complex needs
  • Despite record number of low unemployment, Mission Australia’s employment services grew, and we assisted 202,000 people – an increase of 42,500 people since 2006
