Pathways to strong families and happy, healthy children:
Pathways Project
Pathways is an early intervention program for children who are 0-5 year old and their families. The project promotes healthy development, positive relationships and strong communities.
Wattle House
Wattle House is a community of Mission Australia services working collaboratively with other agencies to provide support for homeless families and individuals.
Services include:
- Personal and financial counselling
- Legal support
- Support for isolated families
- Migrant mental health access services
- Employment assistance
- Substance abuse support to young aboriginal people and their families
- Low cost community food bus
- Catalyst Program – providing accredited university courses in a community setting.
Girrawheen Youth and Family Support Services (GYFSS)
Girrawheen Youth and Family Support Services (GYFSS) assists young people aged 12-18, and their families who are experiencing difficulties. It offers a supportive environment and engages families through support, counseling, information and referrals.
Making TRACKS
Making TRACKS is an early intervention program for 9-12 year olds in the Kwinana area who are at risk of truancy, anti-social behaviour or substance abuse.
Kick Start
Kick Start is a lifestyle change program for young people in Bunbury who are, who have been, or who are likely to be affected by licit and illicit substance abuse.
Pathways away from homelessness:
Reconnect
Reconnect is a free, confidential early intervention service in the Peel region aimed at improving the level of engagement of young people aged 12-18 - who are homeless or at risk of leaving home - with family, work, education, training and the community.
The Supported Housing Assistance Program (SHAP)
The Supported Housing Assistance Program offers support to Homeswest tenants who are experiencing difficulties maintaining their tenancy. The program aims to assist individuals and families to make positive changes in their lives.
The Youth Accommodation Support Service (YASS)
This program offers six homeless young people, aged 15-18, temporary crisis accommodation in a safe and caring home environment.
Navig8
This program seeks to help young people primarily aged between 14 – 25 who are in state care to navigate a path to independent living as well as providing after care while these young people are living independently. The service operates from Mission Australia’s Bunbury office.
Pathways through a successful youth:
Drug and Alcohol Youth Service (DAYS) Withdrawal and Respite
Located in Perth, this service provides a safe and supported environment for young people, aged 12-21, wanting to withdraw from alcohol and other drugs.
Drug and Alcohol Youth Service (DAYS) Residential & Rahabilitation (Yirra)
Yirra - located in Perth - assists young people who are experiencing problems with substance use. Yirra offers two services: a day program and a 24 hour, seven days a week residential rehabilitation program.
On-TRACK
On TRACK was specifically designed to cater for young people who are intoxicated and needing supervised care, to ensure their safety and well-being following an apprehension by police. It provides a safe and supportive environment as an alternative to police custody.
