Pathways to strong, healthy, happy families:

Communities for Children

Communities for Children delivers a range of programs to 0-5 year olds and their families in the Derwent Valley, Southern Midlands, Brighton and Central Highlands municipalities. Programs include:

  • Lets Read
  • Family Fun Days
  • Mobile playgroups
  • Positive Parenting programmes
  • Home Visits and
  • Healthy lifestyle


The Personal Helpers and Mentors Program

This program assists people who have a severe functional limitation resulting from mental illness. We help them manage their daily activities and access appropriate services. Our staff work with small caseloads and provide personal one-on-one support.


Chigwell House

Chigwell House is a service that provides a range of programs that assist clients to address their personal issues and enable them to secure and maintain stable housing.


Pathways through a successful youth:

U-Turn

U-Turn is a diversionary program for young people aged 15-20 who have been involved in, or are at risk of becoming involved in, motor vehicle theft. It aims to reduce the recidivism rate of young car theft offenders. Students undertake a structured 10-week automotive training course in car maintenance and bodywork, delivered in a workshop environment. Post-course support is available and past students are given the opportunity to work on completing their Certificate 1 in Automotive with support from the U-Turn team.


Youth Beat

Youth Beat is a mobile outreach service for young people in the Glenorchy municipality that provides counselling, referral and support out of business hours.
