In September 2011 Mission Australia was named the exclusive Charity Partner and official Community Partner of the Brisbane Roar for its 2011-12 Hyundai A-League season. Mission Australia is also honoured to be the principle partner of the Brisbane Roar Youth (Y-League) Team, which proudly wears the Mission Australia logo across the front of its playing strip. The Roar promotes itself as a healthy, family-oriented sporting club, so it is closely aligned with Mission Australia’s values and commitment to creating strong communities. It has an unrivalled association with junior sport involving both boys and girls right across Queensland. Given that the Roar players, as role models, have a huge potential to influence and mentor people, throughout the season they will work with Mission Australia to connect with young people, as well as Queenslanders experiencing homelessness and long-term unemployment. The partnership between The Brisbane Roar and Mission Australia was officially launched in December 2011 at a double-header match held at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
