Warm support from Optus

26 August 2011
Warm support from OptusThank you to Optus staff from across the nation who recently donated 606 blankets as the part of their Winter Blanket Gift Drive for Mission Australia homeless services.

To top it off, Optus generously donated a dollar for every blanket its employees gathered.

Optus is a Workplace Giving Partner, with staff donating money from their pay to help our Triple Care Farm youth rehabilitation program in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

Last financial year Optus staff raised approximately $28,000 for this vital service through workplace giving.

Special thanks to Optus employee Jenni Tyson, who lovingly created a beautiful children’s quilt (pictured) that raised more than $200 for Mission Australia at auction. The money was then used to purchase more blankets for the drive.

Well done, Optus - your generosity will go a long way to help someone on the streets to stay warm at night.

You can also help a homeless person to stay safe and get through the cold nights by donating to our latest appeal. A gift of $60 to our Missionbeat Appeal is enough to pay for a swag to keep a rough sleeper warm at night.
