| 31 August 2011 |
ABC's 7.30 aired a report on Friday night about a new, interactive anti-theft video campaign aimed to discourage young people from getting involved in motor vehicle theft. Two graduates of Mission Australia's U-Turn program, Nick and Zack, were interviewed about their involvement in the campaign.Commissioned by the National Auto Theft Reduction Council and Tasmania's Glenorchy Council, the interactive online video will be launched nationally in September. The videos at the heart of the campaign will depict various real-life scenarios where young people are influenced to become involved with car theft. Throughout the videos, interactive options are provided to the viewer in a "Choose Your Own Adventure" format. Once an option has been chosen, the video depicts the actual outcome for the decision. In their interviews, Nick and Zack explain how they provided input into the campaign based on their own experiences, to add realism and discourage younger people from being influenced into motor vehicle theft.
