Fun school holiday activities in Queensland |

Mission Australia in Queensland is hosting a range of fun school holiday activities this week for families, children and young people.Tomorrow, 28 September, our Project Circuit Breaker team in North Brisbane will join forces with other community groups to hold a school holiday skate comp for young people in the region. BMX riders, skate boarders, scooter riders and inline bladers are all invited to come along and show their skills at the Deagon Skate Park (corner of Kempster and Board Streets, Deagon) from 10am until 6pm. Activities include sumo wrestling, games, a barbecue and live performances from Trizzy, Last Level, Majestic and Esplanade. There will also be representatives from a range of community organisations for young people seeking support or advice. The event has been organised to provide a fun activity for young people and a safe place for them to meet and enjoy themselves: Family fun days in Inala and Cairns Also tomorrow, 28 September, Mission Australia’s Pathways to Prevention and Communities for Children (CfC) services at Inala, in Brisbane’s south-west, are hosting a free Family Fun Day with the generous support of Johnson & Johnson. The free day is designed to give all local kids a chance to have a fun day out with their family this school holidays. There’ll be free face painting, a jumping castle, a free sausage sizzle and stacks of fun activities for the kids. The Family Fun Day will be held at 37 Kulgun Circuit, Inala, from 10am to 1pm. Families are encouraged to RSVP to (07) 3278 9130 or 3372 7105. Pathways to Prevention program is an early intervention crime prevention program that aims to help young children stay involved with school and avoid negative pathways in life. Our Communities for Children program, which is federally funded, coordinates services across schools, early childhood centres, playgroups and service providers, to connect families, schools and communities together. Then on Friday, 30 September from 10am to 3pm, our CfC program in Cairns is hosting a Country Fair Free Family Fun Day at Sugarworld Parklands, Hambledon Drive, Edmonton.
