Learn to live with teens at free Sydney information nightOn Thursday night Clifton Adolescent and Family Solutions and Youth Connections, in partnership with Hornsby Council, the GP Network and the Hills Schools Industry Partnership, are presenting a free parent information night for parents living with teenagers.

The Positive Conversations with Your Teenager session is part of a series of Spring presentations to families living in Sydney’s North West.

The speaker is Greg Powell, MPsyc (Clin), MTeach (Hons), BA (Psyc), MAPS, a child and adolescent psychologist and former primary school teacher who is highly experienced in working with parents and young people. He will offer parents of teenagers information and insight on communication and relationships. 

The session runs from 7.30pm to 8.30pm at Brooklyn Community Centre, 2-4 Dangar Road, on Thursday 20 October.

As part of the free parent information series, Greg Powell will deliver ‘Positive conversations with your teenagers’ and ‘Strategies for stress’ sessions while Michael Reed, a consultant psychologist and clinical social worker, will talk about ‘Relationships, risk and resilience’,

  • Wednesday 26 October – ‘Positive conversations with your teenager’ at Hornsby
  • Thursday 17 November – Relationships, risk and resilience’ at Galston at Brooklyn
  • Tuesday 29 November – ‘Strategies for stress’ at Galston
  • Wednesday 30 November – ‘Strategies for stress’ at Hornsby
  • Thursday 8 December – ‘Strategies for stress’ at Brooklyn

Of our 50,000 respondents, 27.8 per cent indicated family conflict was of major concern and it was the second top issue.
