Buy a gift online and make a child’s Christmas Day

02 December 2011

Simply-giving-160We all know the joy that even the smallest gift can bring to a child at Christmas – but for mums and dads who are trying to find a place to call home or are struggling to deal with family breakdown or unemployment, even providing one decent gift for their little one will be a struggle.

For this reason Simply Giving, a secure website that makes it easy to donate products to charities, is working with Mission Australia to ensure every child receives something special on Christmas morning.

By visiting the Simply Giving website, you can choose a suitable gift for a disadvantaged child who is receiving support from one of our services for families and children.

The site takes into consideration the child’s age and how much the donor wants to spend, before selecting a special present that can be donated – like an online “giving tree”.

All products have been selected by Mission Australia to best suit the children who are being supported by our Community Services such as Fairfax House, which accommodates families who have experienced homelessness for up to nine months, giving them the time and assistance to truly get back on their feet.

Or our Brighter Futures programs which help provide parents with children from 0 to 8 years with the necessary support needed to assist them to nurture and care for their children and to prevent family problems from escalating.

The gifts – including craft and stationery, board games, dolls, clothes and scooters - will be delivered by Simply Giving direct to Mission Australia’s Community Services nationally in time to brighten up a family’s Christmas Day. Donate online via Simply Giving to receive your FREE Certificate of Appreciation, Gift Card or Origami Gift Box.

To brighten a young Australians life this Christmas with a welcome gift, visit the Simply Giving website.
