Here I Am - film posterHere I Am is premiering in Sydney at the Message Sticks Film Festival on Thursday 12th May at the Sydney Opera House. The Opera House has a limited number of tickets available for sale for the opening night gala screening and after party. A repeat free screening will take place on Saturday 14th May at 11am with a Q&A with director Beck Cole.
Film synopsis
Karen is a beautiful young woman with a dark past, but she’s got potential and she knows it. Fresh out of prison, she finds herself on the streets with a burning desire to turn her life around but no one to call for help. Eventually she finds a haven at a shelter for women like herself. With the support of her new community of friends, Karen begins the journey of reconnecting with her estranged mother and her young daughter, and she is soon propelled to face the most difficult truths of her life. But she’s determined to never give up. Set and shot in and around Port Adelaide, Here I Am is a moving and hopeful story about the strength and resilience of women.

Money Minded - Summary ReportMoneyMinded, a financial literacy program developed by ANZ, aims to help people build financial skills, knowledge and confidence. It has been particularly successful at reaching groups that are marginalised or financially excluded.
MoneyMinded is the most widely used financial literacy program in Australia and, since its inception in 2005 it has reached over 125,000 people. There have been nearly 4,000 facilitators trained to use MoneyMinded. The program has been adapted to suit rural Indigenous participants; people with mental and physical disabilities; high school students; prisoners; long term unemployed and, as presented in this report, youth at-risk.
Recently, ANZ has also adapted MoneyMinded for projects in New Zealand and across the Asia Pacific region under a Group wide commitment to improving the financial capability of disadvantaged communities.
