Where did you come from?
I was born in Canberra and throughout my childhood I lived in Thailand and India.  I moved to the central coast in 2003.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My two beautiful children

What do you feel is unique about your centre?
We provide a very warm and welcoming home like setting that challenges and teaches children in order to prepare them for the future.

Cooranbong centre philosophy:

What is your own early years learning philosophy?
I believe that every child is capable and inventive.  I will endeavour to collaborate with other professionals to deliver a centre that allows children to develop as individuals.

In Relation to the curriculum:
We believe learning begins long before school starts.  We will foster each child's individual learning through collaboration with parents, allowing children to reach their full potential our natural environments reflect the Early Years Learning Framework and allows children to develop a sense of "belonging, being and becoming" (Early Years Learning Framework, Draft format 2008).  We consider the environment to be harmonious, open ended and based on the children's interest, strengths and needs.

In Relation to families:
We strive to form successful partnerships with families of all backgrounds.  Listening respecting and sharing information to enhance each child learning and experience we see each family as unique and different, we respect each families beliefs, values and goals. We endeavour to listen to each family as a means of providing high quality care for each child.

In Relation to children:
We believe children are active contributors to their learning and should be provided with opportunities to learn and grow alongside educators. We respect that every child has differences, interests, needs, capabilities and strengths. We believe every child needs a welcoming and safe environment where their potential will be supported we strive to give children skills to become resourceful, problem solvers, respectful and to reach their potential.

In Relation to educators:
We view ourselves as unique professionals. Reflecting on our practices we strive to attend regular training to ensure we are up to date with current practices. We endeavour to work as a team, collaborate and support one another.  We believe we share the same goals for the service to ensure our environment is warm and secure for every child and family.

In relation to the community:
We will attempt to make strong bonds with in the community, to support local events, values and the
environment.  We accept the different cultures within our community and strive to be inclusive of them.
