About our centre director, Julie Harris
Where did you come from?
I was born and raised on the Central Coast. After completing my HSC, I studied a Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Social Science at the University of Newcastle - Central Coast Campus. I am married with four children.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?Working in Early Education has been a passion of mine since leaving school. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of young children and their families. As an educator I strive to continue to improve the quality of the program provided.
What do you feel is unique about your centre? Our centre is unique in it's location as it attracts families from various communities and socio-economic status'. We have worked hard to individualise our centre and to make both indoor and outdoor environments more natural.
What is your own early years learning philosophy? I believe that children, families and educators work together to achieve best educational outcomes for children. Children are confident, active participants in their learning. I believe that all children should be seen as individuals, capable of achieving. Families are their children's first educators and therefore their input into their experiences at our service is vital.
