What it's all about:

Mission Australia is one of the nation's largest and most highly regarded community service organisations. Our graduate program gives graduates the opportunity to gain invaluable practical experience in the community service sector.


Our 2008 graduate program aims to:

  • Take on outstanding graduates with appropriate qualifications, who can work within Mission Australia's values and conduct guidelines
  • Assist graduates with a smooth and well-supported transition into the workforce
  • Provide graduates with a realistic understanding of working in the community sector, and a comprehensive training and mentoring program
  • Ensure that graduates are well-matched to their service, benefiting both the graduate and Mission AustraliaWho we are looking for


We are seeking outstanding graduates from the following fields:

  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Criminology
  • Early childhood education
  • Community Service diploma
  • Occupational therapy
  • Nursing
  • Business

Preference will be given to graduates who can demonstrate some experience in community services, and a commitment to principles of community welfare and social justice. Graduates need to understand and work within the Mission Australia values. You can read more about our values here.


What you can expect:

An experienced Mission Australia staff member will help you network in the organisation and guide your professional development

  • Access to clinical supervision where required
  • Support from our chaplains to provide you with holistic support to overcome the challenges of your graduate year
  • A comprehensive training program, including training in mental health, first aid and time management
  • A salary equivalent to the Mission Australia Community Service agreement Level 2
  • Access to a range of Mission Australia fringe benefits including salary packaging, meal and entertainment benefits, discounts on travel, accommodation, computers, ipods and health clubs
