As one of the biggest employment service operators in the nation, Mission Australia assists jobseekers with their search for work through a variety of programs, while providing employers with highly trained and job-ready staff. We require a dynamic; performance focused team player from strong sales or customer services background. This is a varied, interesting and hectic role that will see you work with short term and Long Term Unemployed with a view to assisting them into sustainable employment. Your task will be to secure suitable vacancies for our clients and to promote our job seekers directly to new and existing employers. You will spend some of your time preparing and taking job seekers for interviews, preparing individual marketing plans and generally supporting job seekers with their job search and applications. You will also cold canvass on behalf of your clients and follow up with employers to obtain, close and service vacancies. Local industry knowledge is desirable, an understanding of solution/benefit selling is essential. You will be an accomplished communicator who can write professional quality documents and influence others verbally to achieve desired outcomes. The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills along with a compassion towards, and understanding of, the issues relating to unemployed clients. You also need to manage your clients’ compliance to their compulsory job search agreements and work with your clients, Centrelink and the Australian Government when non-compliance occurs. You will have clear Key Performance Indicators to work to and full training will be provided. This role offers the satisfaction of making a real difference to people’s lives and would suit those with a passion for people, an ability to influence others and someone with maturity, patience, courage and a positive outlook. You will need to have a strong client service background, be computer literate, an excellent communicator both written and oral, have a can-do attitude and be comfortable working to targets.
