University of Western Sydney students Sarah Moran and Tara Meyers have made it their mission to raise money for people in need next month. The pair have partnered with Mission Australia as part of their studies to run a second-hand clothing drive at UWS Campbelltown campus on Tuesday, October 4. Miss Meyers said one of Mission Australia' factories was destroyed by fire earlier this year and they hoped the drive would help increase the charity's stocks of clothing. "We were placed with Mission Australia because they have a lot of programs," she said. "Their factory burnt down in March, so they need help restocking retail." Miss Meyers and Miss Moran will collect donated clothes and sell items on the day with all proceeds going to the charity. "All the money we raise will go straight to the Mission Australia stores that will go into the Mission Australia bank account that will help them fund all their other programs," Miss Meyers said. A barbecue will also be held to raise funds for the day at UWS Bankstown on Monday, September 19. Macarthur residents are encouraged to donate clothing, homewares, blankets or food.
