The breakfast will be held on Christmas Day from 8am to 11am at 16 Bellambi Lane, Bellambi. Mission Australia Big Heart Store Manager, Justine Fitzgibbon, who will have a busy Christmas morning overseeing the event, says the breakfast is open to the whole community. “The idea for the breakfast came about as we have a number of volunteers at our Big Heart Stores and our Soft Landing enterprise who live alone and don’t have family close by to celebrate Christmas with,” Ms Fitzgibbon said. “We thought that this is not good enough, so came up with the idea of putting on a breakfast for them to share together. We were then fortunate enough to have a number of local businesses come on board to donate food and toys and due to this we decided to open it up to the whole community.” “Christmas is always a difficult time of year for people who are under financial stress and strain – with so many extra expenses, there might not be enough left for a nice meal. And some people, like some of our volunteers, might live far away from loved ones and don’t have anyone to share that special Christmas meal with.” “It will also be an opportunity for any interested locals to come along and connect and celebrate Christmas with people in your community. So come along on Sunday morning. We will be offering a beautiful freshly cooked breakfast of sausages, eggs, ham, pastries and fresh fruit for individuals and families who might be facing tough times this Christmas.” A big thanks to the following local businesses who donated goods food and toys:
