Taree families Invited to free Expo |

Parents, carers and families of children aged 0-5 who live in and around Taree are invited to take a fun-filled outing to Mission Australia’s Communities for Children Free Family Expo this Sunday 15 March at the Taree PCYC in Commerce Street.The Mayor of the Greater City of Taree, Paul Hogan, will officially open festivities at the PCYC at 10am, with the Expo running through until 2pm. There will be a free sausage sizzle from 11am - 1pm and free fruit and beverages will be available all day. Suzanne Rowe, Mission Australia’s Communities for Children Coordinator said that the Expo will include plenty of interactive entertainment, including a visit from Prime Possum and Paddy Platypus, a jumping castle, a magic show, face painting, arts and craft activities, kindy gym, sporting activities and much more. “We’ll also have information stalls to showcase the services, centres and schools on offer to families in the local Taree area so that parents and carers can get a better idea of the many services available to help support them and their children” said Ms Rowe. Mission Australia’s Communities for Children program is aimed at building the community’s ability to support young children aged 0-5; improve their health, early learning, development and well being; support their parents, carers and families; encourage community commitment and build on existing service infrastructure by creating partnerships with other local providers. The Communities for Children office is located at Shop 1, 46a Wynter Street, Taree. The Communities for Children program is funded by the Department of Families Housing, Community Services & Indigenous Affairs.
