Get adventurous for charity - Kodak Urban Max Adventure 7th October

Up for a challenge? Looking for an adventure with a twist? Fancy pitting your skills of navigation, problem solving and teamwork against the best urban trekkers in Melbourne – and helping disadvantaged young people and families at the same time? Then you’ll love the Kodak Urban Max Adventure!

Held on Saturday 7th October, the Kodak Urban Max Adventure is part adventure race, part scavenger hunt, where teams of two visit Melbourne’s most famous landmarks in a race against the clock to win fantastic prizes.

Participating in the event raises funds for Mission Australia and will help the charity continue its wide range of work helping homeless people, families, youth and juvenile offenders and providing many other important community programs.

A percentage of each entry fee – $85 per person – will be donated to Mission Australia, and $170 will be donated for every five corporate teams entering.

“You will have a great day navigating your way around Melbourne while completing a variety of tasks and challenges,” said event organiser, Henry van Heerden.

“Participants will need a combination of problem solving skills, wit and knowledge of the city to succeed,” he said. “A number of activities require more brainpower than muscle, so speed alone will not get you over the line first!

“Each team receives a checklist of locations they must visit. While most will be easy to find, some will have to be found using clues. Some will require activities to be completed, where others will require the gathering of more clues, or checking in with a marshall. The event is suitable for all fitness levels, and takes between three and five hours.

Urban Max has been successfully staged in Brisbane and will held in Sydney in November. This is the first time the event has been staged in Melbourne.

Competitors have the chance to win over $3000 of prizes.
The Kodak Urban Max Adventure begins with registration at 8am, and starts at 9am at a secret central Melbourne location, to be announced shortly on the event website.
