More than 80 children from disadvantaged families in Adelaide will experience some of the joy of Christmas at a special Christmas party on Tuesday, December 18, from 10.30am-3pm at a City Parkland location (see contact details for precise location)

It’s the fifth year that leading community service group Mission Australia and its corporate partner AGL have hosted this important Christmas event.

The children are all part of Mission Australia’s Family Services program at The Parks, which provides accommodation and support services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and for unemployed people with significant issues impacting on their ability to work.

Father Christmas will arrive, aboard a fire engine, bearing gifts for the children, who’ll also enjoy plenty of fun activities throughout the afternoon.

The event comes as recent research released by Mission Australia and other key community service groups showed more than a third of their clients can’t afford to provide presents for family or friends at least once a year.
