Mission Australia Set to Launch New Drug Service in Gosnells

PDF Print E-mail
12-12-2007

Mission Australia will launch a groundbreaking new integrated service in Gosnells on Wednesday, 12 December.

The integration between the organisation’s Community Drug Service and Next Step program will enhance drug and alcohol services in the area, providing a more convenient, ‘one-stop shop’ for people to address concerns about their drug or alcohol use.

Mission Australia will continue to provide counselling and support services alongside Next Step’s medical assessment.

Peter Osborn, Service Manager, Community Drug Service Team, said the partnership will be rolled out in all metropolitan-based Community Drug Services.

“This means that our counselling services are complemented with medical expertise able to assess and monitor people who require pharmacotherapy, such as methadone, when they are moving off opiate-based drugs,” Mr Osborn said.
