The Viertel Charitable Foundation has supported Mission Australia since 1994. In 2007, the Circles of Care program became fully operational with the support of the Viertel Charitable Foundation.

The Circles of Care program builds on the best of the existing Pathways to Prevention Project to give children a good foundation in life. The program involves creating a circle of support people around each target child and their family in the Inala area. These support people assist the family throughout the child's primary school years. It involves the intentional coordination of all people involved – teachers, principals, Pathways workers, extended families, friends, and other service providers. The outcomes are recorded to track the changes and improvements that occur for the children and their family throughout the duration of the program.
