Everyone deserves to age with dignity but in Australia, one in six people experiencing homelessness are over 55 years.1 Many older people are at risk of homelessness due to unexpected life events, financial instability, elder abuse or disability and illnesses.
Mission Australia takes a long-term and preventative approach to homelessness among older people by providing a safe and sustainable housing solution. We also help vulnerable older people who are currently homeless or living in sub-standard accommodation.
