Fundraising Administration Assistant
Mission Australia supports disadvantaged Australians across Queensland through a number of services. In Brisbane one of our most visible programs is Café One on Wickham in the Valley. This is an example of social enterprise in action – the income derived from the sale of meals and drinks at the Cafe is used to fund the individual support services that run alongside the Café’s operations, to assist clients who may be experiencing homelessness or financial crisis. The Café is open to all. Its customers include homeless and disadvantaged people, professionals buying a takeaway cappuccino, students looking for a cheap meal and clients who sometimes need more than a meal. Volunteer Role: As a volunteer you will be required to help with the running of the Café for the day - basic food preparation, wiping down tables, washing up, serving food etc Volunteer Criteria: It is important that you have good customer service skills and the ability to deal with people from various backgrounds. Food preparation and kitchen hand experience would be beneficial, although not essential. Commitment: We are looking for volunteers to work one day a week/fortnight, Monday-Friday from approximately 7.30am to 3.30pm, and to also be on a back up list to assist the staff from time to time. How to apply: For further information on this volunteering opportunity please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  or call Kathryn Kenny, Café One manager, on 07 3252 3572.
