Pre and Post Release Support Service (PPRSS) works with prisoners who are due for release within the next three months, and who want help to reintegrate back into the Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs communities. Following release, PPRSS continues to provide case-management support while participants re-establish themselves in the community, which can help to reduce the likelihood of reoffending.
Who we assist
The Pre and Post Release Support Service (PPRSS) partners with individuals preparing for release from prison within the next three months who are motivated to successfully reintegrate into the Darwin and surrounding communities.
PPRSS continues to walk alongside participants after their release, providing ongoing case management support as they build positive connections, strengthen life skills, and re-establish themselves within the community. This strengths-based support empowers participants to create new opportunities, reduce the risk of reoffending, and work towards achieving their personal goals for a brighter future.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this service clients must be in the prison system and due for release within 3 months of referral
Referral process
Participants can be referred by other agencies, prisons and self referral by contacting the service by phone, in person or via email
