About
Reconnect is funded by the Dept. of Social Services (DSS). The community-based program supports young people aged 12 - 18 who are experiencing homelessness or at at risk of becoming homeless or experiencing family conflict, living in or attending school in the Whyalla catchment area. Reconnect aims to prevent homelessness by providing accommodation, counselling, mediation and support, with a strong emphasis on family reconciliation and community engagement. Young people can either self-refer, or be referred by anyone with links to the young person including family members; friends; schools; police and youth justice; housing and accommodation services; Centrelink; and other community services.
