About
Universal Aftercare offers timely, compassionate support for people after a suicidal crisis or attempt. Grounded in lived experience, the service is person-led, trauma-informed, and culturally safe. We walk alongside people to build hope, safety, and connection, tailoring support for up to 12 weeks. Care is flexible—face-to-face or virtual—and includes collaboration with clinical and community networks to strengthen recovery and choice.
Who we assist
Universal Aftercare walks alongside people aged 16+ after a suicidal crisis or attempt, offering hope, safety, and connection. We prioritise those across Country South Australia, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people in rural and remote areas. Engagement is voluntary and centred on choice and recovery. Support is flexible—face-to-face, phone, or virtual—and combines peer leadership with clinical collaboration, with cultural safety strengthened through partnership with Aboriginal Sobriety Group (ASG).
