Service Spotlight: Triple Care Farm
When Paula reached out for help to overcome an addiction, our team was ready to provide her the support she needed to recover.
Paula* was introduced to marijuana when she was just 14 years old.
“At first it was recreationally, but it soon became an everyday thing,” remembers Paula.
Eventually Paula began seeking stronger substances to help her cope with the painful memories of living with a violent and abusive stepfather.
The addiction started to consume her life and after three suicide attempts, Paula knew something needed to change.
When she was introduced to Mission Australia’s youth rehabilitation program, Triple Care Farm, Paula made a commitment to break free from drug dependencies.
On the serene farm, our team were ready to support Paula through each step of her detox and rehabilitation journey – from nurses to social workers, psychologists and doctors, our team provided Paula with holistic care and ensured she felt comfortable and safe.
The program had lots of fun workshops, art lessons, exercise areas and taught us life skills. Our evenings consisted of laughter, campfires and really good food.Paula
Paula successfully graduated from Triple Care Farm last year and looks forward to completing her social work degree and stepping into a future free from drugs and alcohol.
To all the supporters of Triple Care Farm, thank you for changing my life.
