Our pre-budget submission focuses on the need for sufficient investment in the mental health system to ensure coverage for everyone’s level of need in the community, addressing housing affordability for those most vulnerable, and the need for adequate funding for evidence-based programs for vulnerable young people.
Mission Australia’s pre-budget submission focuses on the need for significant progress on homelessness and affordable housing and the need for adequate funding for evidence-based programs that have a positive impact on people’s lives and support them on their journey to independence.
Our Pre-budget Submission focused on increasing investment to address homelessness, increasing income support payment base rate permanently, strengthening communities, young people’s mental health and the need to support community services by incorporating the existing rate of Equal Remuneration Order supplementation to funding contracts.
The supplementary submission highlighted a number of concerns including the need to increase social and affordable housing through a stimulus package, permanently increase the base rate of social security payments by $185 a week and supports for people experiencing domestic and family violence.
