Who we assist
Each year the Charcoal Lane Program provides best-practice hospitality training for up to 30 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
We employ people aged between 16-25 years in a Certificate II Hospitality traineeship, delivered in partnership with the William Angliss Institute. The training encompasses Back of House and Front of House training and is purposely delivered as a practical ‘hands on’ qualification. To be eligible for Charcoal Lane you must have an interest in Aboriginal culture and be able to commit to a minimum of one day of training and up to three rostered shifts per week. In return we will support you to commit to and complete training assessments. You must be able to commit to and complete training assessments, be able to travel independently, be contactable and have personal needs that can be managed and met through the Training & Employment Program.
We receive self-referrals or referrals by other agencies by phone, in person or via email. Our Expression of Interest form can be found below.
