Flexible Learning Options (FLO) seeks to achieve by strengthening the capacity and skills of schools, families and communities to support young people to access mainstream education, accredited training, enterprise or employment. FLO provides flexible education and training to young people aged 10-20 years. Some students may still be attending school although erratically and at severe risk of totally disengaging whilst others have completely disengaged from any form of learning. Students face many barriers to education: juvenile justice, learning challenges, socially challenged, bullied, self-esteem, health and wellbeing, substance issues, parents / family reason.

Who we assist

Young people Year 6 to 19 year olds who are enrolled in school but who are disengaged or at risk of disengagement from learning.

Eligibility criteria

Enrolled in a DECD school in year 6 or up to 19 year old. FLO enrolled students are identified by the schools and can be referred onto preferred providers. Preferred Providers provide case management and alternative learning space for students.

Referral process

Students must be referred by the school they are enrolled in.
