The Hunter Gambling Help Counselling service in Newcastle provides free, confidential, non-judgmental counselling support for individuals and families, and community members who are concerned about their own or others' gambling. There is no limit on the number of sessions available for people who need help. While the service specialises in supporting Aboriginal individuals and families, the service is available to the whole community. Support is provided face-to-face, or via telephone, online or outreach. The service also offers community information sessions and SMART Recovery sessions. Who we assist

Hunter Gambling Help Counselling is a specialist service providing Gambling Help Counselling to Aboriginal people in Newcastle. Whilst the focus of the service is supporting Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people are also able to use the service and receive counselling support.

Eligibility criteria

To access this service, you must have issues arising from your own or someone else's problem gambling.

We accept self-referrals or referrals from other agencies or services.
