Mission Australia's Café One (Cairns) is a social enterprise program which provides people with a history of rough sleeping and chronic homelessness and social exclusion the opportunity to participate in vocational training and employment. Operating since 2016, Café One is more than just a job; Café One is a step on the journey towards independence, giving participants a sense of pride, achievement, dignity, and inclusion.
Café One aims to assist in breaking the cycle of homelessness by offering a Traineeship in Certificate I in Hospitality.
The paid Traineeship is designed to provide hospitality skills and social connection for persons with a lived experience of homelessness as they prepare to engage in the workforce.
