The Aherlkeme Development Centre in Alice Springs provides transitional accommodation alongside support services for Territorians who are either homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness. Specifically designed for individuals and families who have difficulty in finding and maintaining tenancies, Aherlkeme provides a program of culturally safe individual support and case management, as well as life skills development, to help residents successfully transition to the public or private rental market.

Who we assist

Facility designed to provide services for homeless Territorians or those at risk of homelessness who have difficulty in accessing and maintaining and securing a tenancy.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this service clients must be eligible for public housing under all Territory Housing criteria, transitioning from homelessness or at risk of homelessness, and who have immediate barriers to sustaining a long term independent tenancy.

Referral process

Residents are now referred by external stakeholders or internally and from Department of Housing.
All referrals still require approval from Department of Housing for further support.
