Peer Support Project

Mental health recovery

Orange, 2800

Peer Support Workers (PSWs) in Far West NSW help to reduce loneliness in people living with mental illness, particularly in the evenings/ weekends. The network of PSWs are shared across agencies to promote collaborative practice and leverage resources, infrastructure and expertise. The aim of the program is to reduce social isolation for individuals by developing a network within their community; provide an after hour support service; and reduce reliance on crisis after hours support.
