Intensive Family Support (IFS) aims to improve the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children (aged 0-18) , and their family through the use of a range of flexible, tailored support services including case-management and access to a range of services that may include counselling, health interventions, and in-home supports. The service supports parents and carers through tailored interventions to build their skills and capacity to safely nurture and protect their children. Services engage with all family members who are willing to receive support.

Who we assist

Families with vulnerable children 0-18 years of age who are at risk of entering or re-entering the Statutory Child Protection System.

Eligibility criteria

Families must have children between 0 - 18 residing with parents/carer, must have complex needs, benefit from access to intensive and specialist support services, and not be currently in need of statutory child protection. Families should agree to IFS intervention and live within the geographic catchment area.

Referral process

Families are referred by Qld Child Safety services, Queensland Health, Police Education Queensland, Family And Child Connect and a number of local service providers.
