Djindigal is a Therapeutic, 10 bed Alcohol and other Drug Rehabilitation facility in Mareeba (Cairns) in Far North Queensland. The service aims to provide a way for clients to take control of their substance use and reduce the negative impacts on their life. The service will empower and equip them to achieve their individual goals relating to their substance use, and to be able to continue their recovery journey after they leave the residential rehabilitation setting. This may look different for different people including goals relating to safer use/ harm minimisation; reducing use or ceasing use.
The service can be divided into three main phases, Pre-Residential, the Residential Recovery Phase and Community Recovery Phase.

Adults

Eligibility criteria

Individuals with problematic substance use seeking support to cease or reduce their substance intake. Individuals over 18 years old from the Cairns area, including Tablelands and other areas in Far North Queensland.

Referral process

Self-referrals as well as referrals from AOD and non AOD services and agencies.
