For Mission Australia supporter Mandy, love has always meant showing up for the next generation.
Growing up in Nambour on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Mandy was surrounded by strong female role models who helped shape her path. Looking back, she recognises how pivotal that support was.
“I always knew I could head home if I needed anything,” she says. “Not everyone has that choice.”
Mandy faced her share of challenges, but becoming a mother to her daughter Sophie was life changing. Watching Sophie grow has strengthened Mandy’s desire to help other young people access the same sense of possibility.
“I want to support young people, like I’ve supported Sophie, so they have independence, options and opportunities they might not have otherwise”
