Overview
These documents contain Mission Australia's three submissions to the Economic Reform Roundtable.
Mission Australia and the Centre for Social Impact at the University of Western Australia jointly submitted a paper calling for the implementation of the Homelessness Solutions Model Framework to effectively and efficiently allocate housing and homelessness resources.
Mission Australia submitted a paper recommending that future National Agreements have a floor of 10% of total investment dedicated to prevention measures in order to reduce the need for cost-intensive crisis services.
Mission Australia submitted a paper encouraging the Federal Government to raise income support payments to at least $82 a day, citing evidence from the COVID-19 pandemic that increasing income support payments reduced poverty and did not disincentivise work, that the measure had broad community support and that cash transfers reduced the need for emergency relief and charity.
