Hayma wanted independence and a safe home
Hayma* came to Australia as a child refugee and grew up in foster care. But after leaving care, she stayed with relatives who were pressuring her to marry against her wishes.
"Thankfully, my school connected me to Mission Australia's Better Futures program for young people leaving care. They helped me gain independence and a safe place to stay at Willow House."

You can make a powerful impact
At Willow House, Hayma has learnt skills like cooking, budgeting and managing her mental health. The program has also helped her build confidence and a rental history.
Hayma is also working hard as she studies to become a nurse so that she can help others, like she has been.
Please donate this Easter to help more young people like Hayma find the safety, stability and support they need to thrive.
