Transition to Work is a free program funded by the Australian Government that supports young people to gain skills, explore career options, and connect with employers. We’ll work with you to find opportunities that match your goals and interests.

FAQs
To participate in Transition to Work, you must be:
- Between 15-24 years old; and
- Either an Australian citizen, or meet certain visa requirements
Your eligibility will take into consideration whether you:
- Have a Year 12 certificate or Certificate III
- Have been employed within the last six months
- Receive income support payment, such as Youth Allowance
- Participate in another employment service
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

If you’re an employer looking to recruit trainees or apprentices, Transition to Work can connect you with young people aged 15–24 and assist with the recruitment process.
We work as a long-term partner to support your workforce needs, offering:
- Advice on recruitment and workforce development
- Guidance on available supports, such as wage subsidies
- Ongoing assistance for 26 weeks after your recruit starts to ensure success
