Are you looking for a home and on a low income or on your states' social housing eligibility list?
Mission Australia Housing provides affordable housing to individuals or families on low to moderate incomes who are having difficulty securing housing in the private rental market. It is designed for working households and the rent we will charge you is up to a maximum of 80% of market rate.
If you would like to apply to Mission Australia Housing’s affordable housing program, we will need to check whether you and your income meet the program guidelines.
Information on the guidelines is available on the Department of Families and Communities (FACS) website
It can be a bit confusing as different affordable housing programs have different criteria. Our housing staff are here to help and are more than happy to chat to you about this.

Social housing
Are you on a low income and on the waiting list for public housing in your state?
If this is you, Mission Australia Housing can provide social housing to single people and families in NSW, Tasmania and QLD.
Social housing applicants generally receive Centrelink benefits. We will charge rent set at approximately 25% of your income, plus 100% of your Commonwealth Rent Assistance (CRA) payment entitlement.
To work out which property you could get and the rent you will be charged, we will follow government requirements or state based community housing rental policies.

Social housing applications are made to the State government and will be added to the relevant State Register.
