Clarence Plains: changing the story of community

Five years ago, Mission Australia Housing took over the management of approximately 500 social homes in the region under an agreement with the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services.
Since then we have been listening to the community and helping to facilitate their vision for the future. This collaborative effort, guided by an overarching 10-year community Master Plan, has seen a number of community initiatives come to life.
As part of this journey towards change and away from the historical and negative public stigma associated with Clarendon Vale and Rokeby, the community has developed their own new identity: Clarence Plains.
Since Mission Australia has come on board, everyone is given the right to be involved in tenant participation and can help to have a positive impact on the community.Mission Australia Housing tenant Graeme*
