Clients reported improvements across a number of life domains including satisfaction with their standard of living, their personal relationships, safety and their future security.
The MAC-K Family Homelessness Research Project compared risk and protective factors, as well as measures of individual resiliency and family strength, among participants with and without a history of homelessness. It sought to understand how some families are able to resist and/or recover from homelessness despite ongoing uncertainty with their economic and social circumstances.
This report summarises the key findings from the MAC-K Family Homelessness Research Project. It details risk and protective factors related to family homelessness and reveals important implications for service design and practice. The report also highlights the benefits of co-locating low threshold services for disadvantaged families with a specialist homelessness response.
The Room to Grow pilot program aimed to address the physical, cognitive and psychological factors contributing to situations of severe domestic squalor and hoarding disorder, thereby reducing the risk of tenancy loss and homelessness. The evaluation demonstrates significant improvements in home environments and wellbeing.
