Mission Australia Communities for Children (CfC) is an early intervention and prevention program that aims to improve the development, health and wellbeing of children aged 12 and under by addressing local needs and encouraging community participation. As the Facilitating Partner in Dandenong, Mission Australia supports a network of place-based community development, and early intervention and prevention programs aimed at giving children the best possible start to life. Community Partners are subcontracted to deliver these programs and services in the community. Funded by the Dept. of Social Services (DSS).

Who we assist

We assist children and families who are experiencing vulnerabilities, at risk of experiencing vulnerabilities or who are socially isolated.

Eligibility criteria

We assist children aged 12 and under. Their families must live in or access services in the City of Greater Dandenong.

Referral process

Referrals are received by other agencies 'Community Partners' delivering services in CfC. Community Partners in CGD are Anglicare, Australian Vietnamese Women's Association, City of Greater Dandenong Libraries and Dandenong and District Aborigines Co-Operative.
