Child and Family Counselling Service provides counselling for families experiencing family issues such as family violence, anxiety, depression, teenage self-harm and family separation. The service offers direct therapeutic counselling, family support and community education within a case plan.

Eligibility criteria

The Child and Family Counselling Service cannot accept referrals from Child Safety Services if there is a current notification and an investigation has not commenced or where it has been determined that a child is in need of ongoing Child Safety intervention. Referrals from Child Safety can be accepted when the family is exiting from a Child Safety intervention (investigation or Intervention with Parental Agreement) and the referral forms part of the exit case plan/strategy.
