The Shopfront Youth Legal Centre is a free legal service for homeless/disadvantaged young people aged under 25 with legal issues. The Shopfront is a joint project of Mission Australia/the Salvation Army & legal firm Herbert Smith Freehills. Shopfront is located in inner-city Sydney but can help people who live outside this area. Mission Australia case workers liaise with the legal staff to provide a co-ordinated and holistic response to the client's legal and other issues. Legal issues range from criminal charges, apprehended violence orders, fines, victims of crime compensation, and some civil matters such as debt issues.

Who we assist

Young people aged 25 and under with legal issues. Client group includes young people who are homeless and disadvantaged, who may be experiencing mental health issues or cognitive impairment. Legal issues may range from criminal charges, apprehended violence orders, fines, victims of crime compensation, and some civil matters such as debt issues.

Eligibility criteria

Under 25 years of age; Presenting legal issue with addition needs. Sydney Metro wide.

Referral process

Referrals can be made to The Shopfront for legal support and advice on (02) 9322 4808. Referrals to the case work team are internal via the legal team.
