Woree Supported Housing Accommodation provides a transition (primarily out of Douglas House or other temporary accommodation) into Mission Australia social housing. The service is equipped to provide supported housing with individualised case management for 20 adults aged 18 and over, for a period of up to 18 months. The service is a step-down support to help people to transition from chronic homelessness with high levels of support to living independently in the community. Consistent with other Cairns homelessness services, support is recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive.
