The Darwin Sobering Up Shelter provides overnight accommodation to homeless and displaced people (18 and over) who are under the influence of alcohol and other drugs and are at risk of harm. NT Police and Larrakia Night Patrol bring people to the Sobering Up Shelter from the greater Darwin and Palmerston areas. Shelter staff then assist clients with referrals to services that can help them to improve their health and wellbeing. Who we assist

Homeless and displaced people at risk of harm in the greater Darwin and Palmerston areas of the Northern Territory under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.

Eligibility criteria

Client must be 18 years or older; Must be intoxicated or under influence of other substances/drugs; Must agree to abide by rules and conditions of the shelter, and must be referred by NT Police or Night Patrol.

Clients must be referred by NT Police or Larrakia Night Patrol. Clients can self refer
