The Family Mental Health Support Service (FMHSS) funded by the Dept. of Social Services (DSS) is an early intervention and prevention support service for children aged 0-18 years (and their families) who are at risk of, or experiencing, issues relating to mental health. Participants can access any FMHSS via self-referral, through other community support agencies, or at the suggestion of family or friends. Formal referrals are not required.

Who we assist

Children 0-18 with mental health issue or risk of mental health concern (and their families), residing in the Blacktown LGA.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the service clients must be children between the ages of 0-18 and their families assessed as being at risk of have mental health concerns. Must be residing in Blacktown LGA and not under state protection agency.

Referral process

Clients can self-refer or can be referred by other agencies by contacting the service by phone, in person or via email.
