Who is this group for and what do we talk about?

Led by people with disability and their carers, the Peer Support Network (PSN) is a place for people to raise issues, share solutions, access helpful resources and hear from guest speakers to help you to get the most out of your NDIS plan. The PSN resources are available 24/7 and the group meets by video conference on a monthly basis. It is open to anyone who lives in the local government areas of Stirling, Vincent, Perth, Subiaco, Cambridge, Nedlands, Claremont, Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove and Mosman Park.

When does this group meet?

Monthly on a Monday at 5.30pm (we are currently meeting via Microsoft Teams – download the app for free here: https://products.office.com/en-au/microsoft-teams/download-app)

Who is this group for?

This group is for NDIS participants, their families and carers who live in either the City of Canning, City of Gosnells, City of Belmont or the Town of Victoria Park.

What do we talk about?

This group meets either online or face to face and is very relaxed and casual. People share stories and experiences about their NDIS journeys and provide support to each other through listening and talking. Our Mission staff are present to help answer any specific NDIS questions but mostly just support the group to remain a safe space for people to share their successes, worries and questions. We hope going forward to also organise some guest speakers based on what the group wants.

When does this group meet?

We typically meet once a month on a weekday evening from 5.30 – 7.30pm.

Central North Metro – Osbourne Park

Who is this group for?

The Osborne Park Peer Support Group, is held at the Osborne Park Community Centre in collaboration with the City of Stirling, and is about bringing people together, supporting each other on their NDIS journey, sharing information on what’s working for families, and what accessible and inclusive activities are available. Keeping up to date with recent changes with the NDIS, and what services providers are offering. Guest speakers are invited every meeting and are chosen to discuss topics that the group feels they need more knowledge or information on. Our group is very informal, and always welcoming of new faces that would like to chat over a cuppa and morning tea.

When does this group meet?

The Osborne Park Peer Support Group meets face to face once a month, on various days of the week from 10:00am -11:30am.

North East Metro – Midland Movement Group

Who is this group for?

The Midland Movement Group is an inclusive group for people of all abilities who would like to become physically active and would like to engage with others in a safe, community space. People can build their capacity to form and maintain friendships whilst engaging in physical exercise in a safe and outdoor space. A Local Area Coordinator from Mission Australia will join the group to meander along the river loop at the John George Walking Trail, which is located at First Avenue, Woodbridge. NDIS related questions can be answered by the Local Area Coordinator after the walk is finished. We invite support workers and carers to attend to support those who may require assistance to participate.

When does this group meet?

Every third Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:30pm, at the John George Walking Trail, which is located at First Avenue, Woodbridge.
